Illuvium co-founder and CEO Kieran Warwick said on Aug. 21 that six months of cost reductions and a further wage cut had restored more than 12 months of operating runway for the web3 gaming studio. The remaining workforce is now almost entirely focused on the flagship Overworld MMO, with most team members having been at Illuvium for more than three years. Warwick did not disclose the current cash balance or monthly burn; the studio last reported burn of about $900,000 in December 2024 after administrators stopped taking salaries and wages were cut by another $85,000. Illuvium had expected to seek additional capital around March 2025, but it is unclear whether new financing factored into the latest runway figure. A social media claim of $132 million raised conflates reported funding of about $60 million with earlier NFT land-sale proceeds. The studio has reduced the MMO’s scope and is targeting a December 2026 launch, alongside several smaller 2026 products including Primal Tactica and Loadout. ILV was down 67.55% over the year through Aug. 21.
