Uniswap burned approximately 150,000 UNI tokens worth about $590,000 on Aug. 21, setting a record for its daily burn value in U.S. dollar terms. Ethereum accounted for about $267,000, Base for $165,000 and Robinhood Chain for $87,000 of the total, Crypto Briefing reported. By token count, the burn was Uniswap's second-largest daily reduction, behind the 186,000 UNI burned on June 5. The burn was conducted through Uniswap's fee switch mechanism, which uses trading fees to buy and permanently remove UNI from circulation, creating deflationary pressure on supply.
