Bitcoin closed around $78,300 after gaining more than 7% in one day and rising over 23% across three days, adding roughly $275 billion to its market capitalization and briefly reaching $79,000. About 53,000 BTC moved to exchanges during the rally, including 17,800 BTC sent to Binance. CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost said the entire Binance inflow came from investors who had bought their coins less than 24 hours earlier, while holders who had held Bitcoin for six months or more sent none. He described the activity as short-term speculative profit-taking rather than structural selling and said the flow was the largest of its kind at Binance since February 2026. The rally was accelerated by nearly $3 billion in short liquidations, Treasury bond buybacks, President Donald Trump's pro-crypto remarks and strong spot Bitcoin ETF inflows. However, a negative Coinbase Premium Index and divergent open-interest data suggest the advance has not yet been fully confirmed by U.S. spot demand or new leverage. Analysts are watching whether Bitcoin can hold the short-term holder realized price, keep its Spent Output Profit Ratio above 1 and attract stronger spot demand.
