Tron founder Sun Yuchen said his lawsuit against World Liberty Financial is publicly framed as a commercial dispute involving $45 million and 4 billion tokens, but fundamentally concerns blockchain ownership principles. He said the industry was built on the idea of "your keys, your coins," allowing individuals to own their assets without permission. Sun alleged that World Liberty Financial secretly embedded the power to arbitrarily freeze user assets in its contract, without disclosure, governance or a defined process, and exercised that power within days of its token unlock. He said such conduct contradicts the name "freedom" and would make blockchain systems no different from the traditional financial world if issuers could confiscate holders' assets at will. Sun said he would pursue the lawsuit to the end, seeking not only to recover the assets but also to establish a legal precedent that users must truly own their assets.
