AAVE surged almost 25% in 24 hours as renewed decentralized finance activity, rising deposits and bullish derivatives positioning supported the token, although spot markets showed resistance. Aave’s Total Value Locked (TVL), the value of assets deposited in the protocol, reached $18.05 billion on 19th August, while August net user incentives rose to approximately $50,270, their highest level since December 2025. Binance and OKX traders recorded Long/Short Ratios of 1.46 and 1.15, respectively, but the broader market ratio remained below 1, favoring sellers. AAVE also recorded a $3.4 million 24-hour net outflow, possibly reflecting profit-taking; three- and five-day netflows nevertheless indicated that buying had outweighed selling. Bitcoin held above $77,000 in a narrow range with below-average volume, while PENGU and AAVE showed relative strength as many altcoins traded flat or lower. Macro conditions, including inflation, central-bank policy, the dollar and bond yields, remain important to the outlook.
