BounceBit is reportedly winding down its Layer 1 blockchain and migrating to BNB Chain after an exploit involving about $3 million, although the incident and migration have not been independently verified against a primary on-chain or official source in the latest account. Earlier reporting said an attacker moved 286.5 million BB from nine mainnet accounts through a protocol-level authorization flaw and that BounceBit planned to reissue the token as a BEP-20 asset on BNB Chain. The proposed transition would move consensus and base-layer security from BounceBit’s validator set to BNB Chain. Earlier plans included setting balances from block 20,697,260, reversing transfers made during the 5-hour-34-minute incident window, counting staked and unbonding balances, and crediting matching BNB Chain addresses automatically without a claim site. BounceBit said its CeDeFi Strategy, Promo Vaults, Prime and RWA products were unaffected. Token mapping, validator wind-down, user timelines and other migration mechanics should remain conditional until an official post-mortem or roadmap is published.
