Canadian union Unifor said it reached tentative agreements with General Motors on behalf of 4,600 members in Ontario. The agreements cover workers at the Oshawa Assembly Plant, CAMI Assembly Plant in Ingersoll, and worksites in St. Catharines and Woodstock. Unifor National President Lana Payne said the deals provide strong income and benefit gains. Negotiations began earlier this month after members ratified a three-year agreement with Ford that included 3% wage increases in each year. Ratification meetings for the GM agreements are scheduled for August 29 and 30.
