SafePal is responding to an order-information security incident after an authorization flaw in its order-tracking plugin allowed unauthorized access to some customer order data. The company is selecting one of four professional anti-phishing firms to accelerate takedowns of phishing websites and impersonation accounts, while monitoring darknet forums and markets for any sale or public disclosure of affected data. Customers will be notified immediately if such activity is detected. SafePal is also choosing one of three independent security companies to conduct a comprehensive review of its order system and is assessing ways to reduce data retention across ordering and logistics processes. The company said hardware wallets, private keys, Seed Phrases and crypto assets were not affected. SafePal continues to provide individual assistance through official support channels, update its scam-protection page and remind users never to disclose their Seed Phrase, scan unknown QR codes or click suspicious links.
