Elon Musk added more than $22 billion to his fortune on Friday, lifting his net worth above $851 billion as Tesla and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. shares extended their rebound from 2026 lows. A separate Bloomberg report pegged his wealth at $873 billion as of Aug. 22, more than $578 billion ahead of Larry Page, whose fortune was estimated at about $295 billion. SpaceX ended the week at $136.90, up 30% from its 2026 low, while Tesla has gained 22% from its July low. The two companies have added more than $250 billion to Musk’s wealth this year and have renewed speculation that he could again approach the $1 trillion threshold he briefly crossed earlier this year. Analysts’ average targets imply further upside of 66.5% for SpaceX, to $228, and 12% for Tesla, to $406, with bullish targets of $210 and $248 from UBS and Bernstein for SpaceX and $491 and $500 from Stifel’s Stephen Gengaro and RBC’s Tom Narayan for Tesla. Tesla’s second-quarter revenue rose 26% to $28.23 billion, while deliveries reached 480,126 against production of 451,758 vehicles. Artificial-intelligence investment pushed free cash flow to a $1.09 billion outflow, compared with a $1.4 billion inflow in the prior period, and it is expected to remain negative for the full year. SpaceX revenue increased 92% to $7.8 billion, while capital expenditure jumped to $18.3 billion from $2.8 billion a year earlier. Spending is expected to rise further as Tesla and SpaceX advance the Terafab project in Texas.
