Leading cryptocurrencies consolidated on Sunday after a sharp weekly rally, with geopolitical tensions weighing on risk appetite. Bitcoin was recorded at $77,357.55 at 9:20 p.m. EDT, up 0.11% over 24 hours after reaching $78,000 and encountering resistance; it gained 22% over the week to levels last seen more than three months ago. Ethereum rose 0.97% to $2,450, XRP fell 0.78% to $1.48, Solana declined 1.27% to $94.86 and Dogecoin dropped 1.90% to $0.09200. Nearly $400 million was liquidated from the crypto market in 24 hours, including $220 million in bullish long positions. Bitcoin futures open interest (the value of outstanding contracts) slipped 0.02% in 24 hours but remained 17% higher over the week. The global crypto market capitalization rose 0.18% to $2.63 trillion, while market sentiment stayed in the “Greed” zone. Michaël van de Poppe forecast a possible short-term dip before Bitcoin continues higher toward $82,700, and identified $74,000 as a major potential buying area. He also said Ethereum could retest its highs and viewed $2,200 as a potential entry point if it revisits its lows.
