DB Securities will serve as title sponsor of Ethereum Korea One: Genesis in Seoul from the 28th to the 29th of next month, marking the first time a South Korean securities firm has taken that role at an Ethereum ecosystem conference. CEO Kwak Bong-seok will deliver the opening keynote on the first day. Hosted by the Ethereum Korea Consortium, the event follows Ethereum Korea One in April and has been expanded into a flagship Ethereum conference. The first day at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido will target regulated finance, bringing together about 300 guests from banks, asset managers, securities firms and policy circles from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Discussions will cover tokenization, custody, staking, real-world assets (RWA) and the on-chain transformation of regulated finance, with South Korea's token securities (STO) policies and business development a central theme ahead of the regime's planned launch in 2027. The second day at Informal Square in Seongsu will focus on researchers and developers, covering protocols, open source, Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks, zero-knowledge proofs, account abstraction and decentralized finance (DeFi). Speakers include Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, BitMine Chairman of the Board Tom Lee, and representatives from Consensys, SharpLink, Franklin Templeton, Ondo Finance, the Ethereum Foundation, Optimism, Offchain Labs, Securitize and Lido. Separately, FactBlock announced on Aug. 24 that Lubin would speak at the main conference of KBW2026 with Upbit in Seoul, where he is expected to discuss real-world asset tokenization, Ethereum, Web3's next phase and the convergence of traditional finance with blockchain. Exact KBW2026 dates had not been fully disclosed, although the event is typically held in September.
