LS Electric (010120.KS) said on the 24th that it secured a roughly 230.9 billion won ($167.2 million) AI data center power equipment project from a North American big tech company. The expanded contract more than doubles the 106.4 billion won ($77.1 million) 38-kV high-voltage distribution agreement signed with the same customer in June, after the customer requested an additional 124.5 billion won ($90.2 million) in supply. The contract runs from June 8 through January 30, 2027. LS Electric attributed the follow-on order to successful delivery under the original agreement and said its Utah and Texas production bases are helping improve supply-chain stability and delivery competitiveness. As AI data centers require substantially more power than conventional facilities, the company is also expanding beyond alternating-current equipment into direct-current distribution, which can reduce conversion losses as AI server power density rises.
