S.BLOX, the Japanese crypto asset exchange operated under Sony On-Chain Technologies Inc., a Sony Group subsidiary, enabled trading in Cardano’s ADA and listed NIGHT, the native token of the Midnight sidechain, on Aug. 24. The exchange said NIGHT had not previously been supported by any domestic Japanese operator, making the listing the token’s first entry onto a Japan-registered venue under local financial authorities. Promotional campaigns offer eligible users up to 10,000 yen in ADA and up to 14,000 yen in NIGHT; earlier reporting put the programs through Sept. 30, while a later account said they run throughout August. Midnight’s mainnet technical operations launched in March 2026 and the NIGHT token was issued in December 2025. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson called the listing significant given Japan’s Financial Services Agency review standards, and market observers said a Sony-backed venue could support liquidity for both tokens across Asia this quarter while giving a major corporate name a foothold in Cardano’s ecosystem, even as U.S. regulatory treatment of Cardano remains in focus for investors.
