Ethereum has outperformed Bitcoin since early June, with the ETH/BTC ratio rising about 25% from its June 6 low as the pair forms a golden cross. The pattern occurs when the 50-day moving average moves above the 200-day average and is commonly viewed as a bullish signal. Historical results cited by CoinDesk have varied: the ratio climbed about 93% after a February 2021 golden cross and reached 0.0824 by mid-May that year, while a July 25, 2025 crossover was followed by a roughly 36% rise over four weeks before the ratio declined. Golden crosses in May and August 2022 failed to sustain an uptrend. Because the indicator is based on historical prices and therefore lags market conditions, it does not ensure that Ethereum will continue to outperform Bitcoin.
