ResearchAndMarkets.com added two reports on recycling markets on Aug. 24, 2026. The global vehicle recycling market was valued at $88.8 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $156.4 billion by 2035 at a 6.1% compound annual growth rate, while the black mass recycling market was valued at $15.5 billion and is forecast to reach $65 billion at a 15.2% CAGR. Vehicle recycling growth is supported by stricter end-of-life vehicle regulations, electric-vehicle adoption, demand for recovered ferrous and non-ferrous metals and more than 30 critical-mineral recycling policy measures introduced globally since 2022. Passenger cars represented 72.4% of vehicle recycling, worth $64.3 billion, and internal-combustion-engine vehicles represented 79.7%, worth $70.8 billion, in 2025; the United States market reached $31.5 billion. Black mass recycling is shifting from manufacturing scrap toward end-of-life batteries, increasing demand for collection, sorting, pre-processing, refining and closed-loop battery-material supply chains. Hydrometallurgical processing held 52% of that market, worth $8.1 billion, and is projected to grow at a 15.6% CAGR through 2035. Manufacturing scrap held 34% in 2025, while North America accounted for 16%.
