HashKey Exchange, the SFC-licensed virtual asset trading platform under HashKey Holdings (3887.HK), began offering the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund (grBENJI) through its Earn channel on Aug. 24, 2026. The tokenized money market fund gives eligible professional investors in Hong Kong and Asia access to short-term U.S. government securities, repurchase agreements, and U.S. dollar cash, targeting a stable $1.00 net asset value, with ownership recorded on public blockchains while Franklin Templeton’s transfer agent keeps the official shareholder register. Access is limited to professional investors and excludes the Hong Kong public as well as users in Mainland China, the United States, and certain other jurisdictions. RWA.xyz recently listed BENJI yielding around 3.6% over seven- and 30-day windows at a $1.00 NAV, with just over 1,100 holders. The listing expands Franklin’s Asia distribution after a November 2025 Hong Kong launch of the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund with HSBC and OSL—the city’s first tokenized money market fund and the first project under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Fintech 2030 plan—and a June 2026 EX.IO channel, and follows BENJI placements via MoonPay and DigiFT, a May strategic collaboration with Kraken parent Payward, BNB Chain expansion after a Binance tie-up, and Franklin’s acquisition of CoinFund spinoff 250 Digital—partly paid in BENJI tokens—to form Franklin Crypto. HashKey and Franklin said they will explore further tokenized products across markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, and Bermuda. Franklin’s assets under management were cited at $1.80 trillion as of July 31, with its tokenized assets above $2.5 billion, while tokenized U.S. Treasuries and money market funds have grown about 1,500% over two years to roughly $15 billion, standing near $15.6 billion within a $38.2 billion on-chain real-world asset market that is up about 85% from $20.6 billion a year earlier as of Aug. 23, according to RWA.xyz.
