South Korean cryptocurrency exchanges Bithumb and Upbit will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals for major tokens on Aug. 31 during scheduled monthly virtual-asset reviews, limiting transfers even as users must plan around the cutoffs. Bithumb will halt deposits and withdrawals for 25 cryptocurrencies for 10 hours from 8:00 a.m. UTC to 6:00 p.m. UTC on Aug. 31 as part of its monthly virtual asset audit, and will also pause fixed-term staking and unstaking applications for those assets. Its list includes BTC, XRP, ETH, SOL, DOGE, WLD, XLM, SHIB, ONDO, TRX, ADA, KAIA, ETC, LINK, BCH, PEPE, SUI, HBAR, VIRTUAL, PENGU, BASED, 0G, PRL, BLEND and B3. Upbit will separately suspend deposits and withdrawals for 25 cryptocurrencies from 12:00 p.m. UTC to 8:00 p.m. UTC on Aug. 31 as part of its monthly virtual asset balance inspection, covering BTC, XRP, ETH, SOL, DOGE, XLM, SHIB, ETC, ONDO, LINK, NEAR, AVAX, STX, ENS, ATOM, SAND, WLD, ARB, PEPE, DOT, CTC, AXS, ENA, CRO and APT. Staking applications for ETH, ATOM, CRO and SOL will also be suspended on Upbit during that period. The overlapping pauses on widely held assets underscore the need for traders to complete time-sensitive transfers and staking actions before the scheduled windows.
