Edgewise Therapeutics said its CIRRUS-HCM abstract was selected for a late-breaking science presentation at the European Society of Cardiology Congress, taking place Aug. 28-31, 2026, in Munich, Germany. The presentation will highlight positive top-line data from the 12-week Phase 2 trial of EDG-7500 in obstructive and nonobstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a genetic disease in which the heart muscle thickens and can impair relaxation and blood flow. EDG-7500 is an oral, selective cardiac sarcomere modulator designed to slow early contraction and improve cardiac relaxation while preserving systolic function. Anjali Tiku Owens, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, will present the data on Aug. 31, 2026. CIRRUS-HCM is a multi-part, open-label trial conducted at more than 20 U.S. clinical sites. Its Part D evaluated 12 weeks of treatment in participants with obstructive and nonobstructive HCM, exploring dose response and optimization before an open-label extension. HCM affects approximately one in 500 people and is associated with reduced quality of life, heart failure, abnormal heart rhythms and sudden cardiac death. Edgewise said additional treatment options remain needed for patients with the disease.
