Trump Media interim CEO Kevin McGurn said paying customers for Truth API, which sells high-frequency trading firms early access to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts, have grown into the mid-teens, up from more than 10 agreements cited on the company’s earnings call two weeks earlier. The service launched Aug. 1 and costs up to $100,000 a month; the company has already earned more than $1 million from it. Defending the product on CNBC, McGurn said demand came from the market and compared the feed to long-standing social-platform APIs used by trading firms, news outlets and prediction markets. Plans include expansion to retail trading platforms, large language models and prediction markets. Critics argue the arrangement lets paying clients trade on presidential statements before the public; the service faces congressional scrutiny and at least one federal lawsuit alleging it is unconstitutional to sell early access to posts the public effectively owns. Trump holds his Trump Media stake through a revocable trust that preserves ownership without day-to-day control. Whether customer growth outpaces legal and political pressure heading into the midterms remains the central open question.
