Ethereum developer Eric Conner has proposed ERC-8392, a common status interface for tokenized stocks and other real-world assets. The draft addresses the gap between continuously operating blockchains and traditional markets such as the New York Stock Exchange, which is open for about 32.5 hours each week. Its required IAssetStatus interface and optional extensions would report market sessions, trading interruptions, valuation-feed conditions and issuance or redemption availability. ERC-8392 is designed to provide operational information rather than decide whether an asset is safe to trade or use as collateral, leaving each application to determine its response. The proposal was initially called ERC-8391 in Conner's Aug. 24 X post, but the Ethereum Magicians discussion and draft identify it as ERC-8392. The draft remains under review as tokenized-stock activity expands across blockchain networks.
