Binance’s bStocks tokenized equities product added 60,700 holders in 24 hours, making it the largest issuer by holder growth in the tokenized securities market. Launched on June 11-12, bStocks surpassed 522,000 total holders by August 20 and accumulated more than $500 million in assets under management, with recent estimates ranging from $500 million to $624 million. The product consists of BEP-20 tokens on BNB Chain, each representing a 1:1 claim on a US-listed stock or ETF held in regulated custody. The tokens trade around the clock, including weekends and holidays, without transaction fees. bStocks began with TSLAB for Tesla, NVDAB for NVIDIA and CRCLB for Circle, and later expanded to more than 46 listings, including SPCXB for SpaceX. Assets under management rose from $5.6 million on the first day to more than $100 million within 15 days and above $500 million by late July. Cumulative trading volume reached $458 million in the first two weeks, while monthly decentralized-exchange volumes later climbed into the billions. Binance data shows that 41.5% of users gaining US equity exposure through bStocks are identified as crypto-native. Gen Z investors and users in emerging markets make up a significant part of the holder base, reflecting groups that have historically faced barriers to accessing US equities through traditional brokerages. Trades placed outside the standard US market hours of 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern account for 47% to 62% of volume, with especially strong activity on weekends. Rebase mechanisms (automatic token supply adjustments) also handle corporate actions such as dividends and stock splits. The rapid growth suggests that distribution, rather than the underlying technology, has been the main bottleneck for tokenized stocks.
