EVA Air, AIT sign two-year SAF pact to provide Microsoft with 15,000 metric tons of CO2e attributes

EVA Air and global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics signed a two-year memorandum of understanding on Aug. 25, 2026, to advance EVA Air's Green Transportation Program. During the first year, EVA Air will provide approximately 15,000 metric tons of CO2e in Sustainable Aviation Fuel environmental attributes to Microsoft, supporting the reduction of Scope 3 emissions associated with air transportation of its cloud infrastructure equipment. The flights will depart from Taiwan using SAF supplied by Formosa Petrochemical Corporation and produced from used cooking oil. The fuel is certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification system and delivers approximately 80% lower lifecycle greenhouse-gas emissions than conventional jet fuel. The attributes will be issued and retired through the ISCC Credit Transfer System, allowing Microsoft to account for the associated air-freight emissions reductions. The initiative brings together aviation, logistics, energy and technology companies and is intended to create a scalable model for wider SAF adoption and lower-carbon supply chains.
