President Lee Jae-myung has ordered South Korea to treat AI-driven administrative innovation as a core government responsibility rather than an individual initiative. The strategy includes AI-readable official documents, mandatory civil servant training, an AI Government Lab, incentives and dedicated funding for workplace innovation, wider private-sector access to public data, and 24-hour AI consultation in welfare, safety, taxation, agriculture, and food and drug safety. The government also plans to train 20,000 AI Champions, release the 100 public datasets most sought by businesses and citizens, connect agency data through a government-wide pipeline, and expand the OnAI work management system to all 47 central government agencies by December.
