Aston Villa has agreed to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea for up to £65 million, comprising an initial £47.5 million payment and £17.5 million in potential add-ons. The deal will make Jackson Villa’s record signing, surpassing Johan Manzambi. The move follows Villa’s agreement to sell Ollie Watkins to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal for approximately £50 million, creating an urgent need for a striker. Jackson, who turns 25 this year, scored double-digit goals during a productive loan spell at Bayern Munich in the 2025-26 season. Chelsea bought him from Villarreal for £32 million in June 2023, meaning the maximum fee would represent a potential 103% return on its investment over three years. The deal also reunites Jackson with Villa manager Unai Emery, who coached him at Villarreal. It forms part of an active transfer relationship between the clubs this summer after Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea for a reported £117 million, taking the combined value of player transfers between the teams to £182 million in a single window.
