Bitcoin climbed above $80,000 and $81,000 for the first time since mid-May, reaching a 15-week peak before retreating to just below $80,000. Its market capitalization rose to $1.6 trillion, while Bitcoin dominance (its share of the total crypto market) increased to 58% on CG and almost 60% on CMC. The move followed a rally that took BTC from below $65,000 to $70,000, then $75,000, nearly $80,000 and finally above $81,000, with a weekend correction to $75,500 in between. Solana’s native token led larger-cap altcoins, gaining 7% to exceed $100. HYPE approached its $83 all-time high, ZEC overtook DOGE as the 10th-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, and the total crypto market capitalization rose nearly $100 billion to $2.770 trillion on CG.
