Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) formally established Global Transaction Banking (GTB) as a unified global business on Aug. 26, 2026, jointly led by Sean Amato-Gauci and Derek Neldner. The business brings together transaction banking capabilities from Commercial Banking in Canada and the U.S. and Capital Markets under one strategy covering client relationships, products, technology and execution. Kartik Kaushik will lead product, platforms and solutions, while Michael Klopchic will lead client coverage. GTB includes RBC Clear and RBC Edge, digital cash management platforms in the U.S. and Canada, respectively, as well as foreign exchange, payments, trade finance and liquidity management. RBC said the business is central to generating new deposits to fund its next phase of growth. The bank holds the No. 1 position in transaction banking in Canada, including the largest wholesale portfolio and the industry's leading payments franchise, while building momentum in the U.S.
