REGENXBIO Inc. appointed Greg Ciongoli to its Board of Directors effective August 25, 2026, as Jerry Karabelas, Ph.D., and Jean Bennett, M.D., Ph.D., retire after serving as independent directors since 2015 and 2021, respectively. Ciongoli is Founder and Managing Partner of Adiumentum Capital Management and brings experience in biotechnology investing, capital allocation, corporate governance and corporate strategy. He previously spent more than 16 years at The Baupost Group and currently serves as Board Chairman of Atara Biotherapeutics and as a Board member at Zymeworks Inc. REGENXBIO said the appointment comes as it advances multiple catalysts across its late-stage pipeline of potential first- and best-in-class gene therapies and prepares to become a global commercial organization. Its programs include RGX-202 for Duchenne, surabgene lomparvovec (ABBV-RGX-314) for wet AMD and diabetic retinopathy in collaboration with AbbVie, and RGX-121 (clemidsogene lanparvovec) and RGX-111 for MPS II and MPS I, respectively, in partnership with Nippon Shinyaku.
