Swvl Holdings Corp. has secured a $13 million private placement led by Coefficient LP, a Houston-based investment firm backed by the Sawiris family of Cairo. Coefficient will invest $10 million, while an existing Swvl investor will provide the remaining $3 million. Upon closing, Coefficient is expected to become Swvl’s largest institutional shareholder, and its Founder and Managing Partner, Abdalla Ali, will join Swvl’s Board of Directors. Swvl will issue about 8.99 million Class A shares at $1.446 each, with closing expected on Aug. 27, 2026, subject to customary conditions. The stock rose 46.95% to $2.16 at the time of publication, according to Benzinga Pro data. Swvl said first-quarter 2026 revenue increased 68% year over year to $8.2 million, while Gulf Cooperation Council revenue climbed 111%. Recurring revenue represented 88% of total revenue, net dollar retention reached 114%, dollar-pegged revenue represented 44% of total revenue, and operating expenses declined to 23% of revenue as the company moved closer to operating breakeven. Net proceeds will support U.S. expansion, the launch of a lending offering for transport operators and network partners, and balance-sheet strengthening as Swvl pursues multi-year enterprise and government contracts. The securities are being offered in a private placement and have not been registered under the Securities Act; Swvl agreed to file a resale registration statement covering the shares.
