Taiwan’s wholesale revenue reached a record NT$1.76 trillion (about $55.2 billion) in July, rising 56.4% from a year earlier as demand for AI, high-performance computing (advanced computing for demanding workloads) and cloud services accelerated shipments across related supply chains. Revenue for the first seven months totaled NT$10.79 trillion (about $338.8 billion), up 36.2%, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs estimates the sector could exceed the full-year 2025 record of NT$14.07 trillion (about $441.9 billion) as early as September. Machinery and equipment wholesale led the expansion, climbing 103.4% year over year on strong exports of servers, memory and related electronic components. Wholesale has set monthly records for two consecutive months since June and recorded growth for 18 straight months. Retail revenue rose 7.7% to a July record of NT$418.3 billion, while food and beverage services increased 2.5% to a monthly record of NT$88.7 billion. The Ministry said a typhoon restrained July performance by reducing working days and foot traffic, while the CLC Oil incident had no significant overall effect. For August, it projects wholesale revenue of NT$1.7107 trillion to NT$1.7443 trillion, retail revenue of NT$411.1 billion to NT$422.9 billion, and food and beverage revenue of NT$94.2 billion to NT$97 billion.
