Cisco announced a partnership with Supermicro on August 25 to integrate NVIDIA-based AI compute systems into its Secure AI Factory, offering enterprises pre-validated infrastructure that combines Supermicro’s high-density servers with Cisco’s networking, security and observability stack. The systems are expected to become available in October 2026, reducing the need for customers to integrate hardware from multiple vendors themselves. Cisco President Jeetu Patel said, “Think about us as being the critical infrastructure for the AI era.” The Secure AI Factory debuted in March 2025 at NVIDIA’s GTC event in San Jose and expanded by March 2026 to include advanced edge computing and multi-agent AI capabilities. Supermicro contributes liquid-cooled and air-cooled server designs optimized for NVIDIA GPUs, while Cisco provides connectivity, security and monitoring. The partnership comes as Dell Technologies, HPE, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud expand competing AI infrastructure offerings. Cisco is presenting the platform as a neutral option for hyperscaler, on-premises and hybrid deployments, while Supermicro gains access to Cisco’s global sales force and channel partner network.
