AI security startup Alice has raised $140 million in a round led by Apax Digital, the growth equity arm of Apax Partners, with participation from SentinelOne and Samsung Electronics. The Tel Aviv- and New York-based company is valued at close to $1 billion, according to Chief Executive Officer Noam Schwartz, although one report placed its valuation between $700 million and $800 million. Formerly known as ActiveFence, Alice has raised $280 million since its 2018 founding and says it is approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue. Its platform uses a database of real-world adversarial content to test AI models during development and monitor deployed systems for harmful or noncompliant behavior. Alice says it protects eight of the world's 10 leading AI foundation-model labs and more than three billion users, as demand grows for controls over increasingly autonomous AI agents.
