TRON surpassed 400 million accounts on August 23, 2026, adding the latest 100 million in about 16 months after rising from 300 million on April 12, 2025. The network's genesis block launched on June 25, 2018, and it took four years to reach the first 100 million accounts before hitting 200 million on December 7, 2023. TRON has processed more than 15.2 billion transactions with about $30 trillion in cumulative transfers, a total TRON DAO put at more than $29 trillion, and now settles 51.4% of circulating USDT, including 52% of global low-value transfers used for retail payments and remittances. A $94.2 billion USDT float on the chain rose about $3 billion in a single day. The network averaged 4.64 million active accounts over 30 days, with some August sessions topping 5 million and about 170,000 new addresses joining daily, while Ethereum still leads daily activity and DeFi. Founder Justin Sun said the ecosystem grew from zero to 400 million users in just over eight years. TRON DAO cited institutional interest after joining the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index and naming Anchorage Digital, Securitize and Bitnomial as partners, as treasury arm Tron Inc. bought another 145,199 TRX at an average of $0.3444, lifting holdings to 711.5 million TRX worth about $245 million. TRX traded at $0.3357, down 1.1% on the day and up 1% on the week, with a market cap of $31.87 billion.
