Vision Marine Technologies Inc. has filed a new U.S. patent application covering charging protection technology for its E-Motion™ high-voltage electric marine powertrain. The proposed system is designed to monitor charging connections continuously, automatically interrupt the high-voltage charging path, reduce commanded charging current to zero and block charging from resuming until connections and operating conditions are confirmed. The company said the approach is intended to provide a more predictable experience for boat owners, operators, dealers, installers and service personnel while protecting vessels, electrical components and people working around the powertrain. The filing expands Vision Marine's intellectual-property portfolio around E-Motion™, which integrates propulsion, high-voltage energy management, charging, controls, cooling, monitoring and operator interfaces. The application remains subject to examination by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, with no assurance over its scope, timing or outcome.
