BlackRock head of digital assets Robbie Mitchnick told CNBC that Bitcoin already has more regulatory acceptance than most digital assets, making the stalled CLARITY Act less critical to its investment case than to DeFi and other unsettled crypto categories. He said Bitcoin's rally during equity weakness reflected independent flows and the debasement trade, with younger investors increasingly viewing it as a store of value alongside or instead of gold. IBIT recorded $1.33 billion in weekly net inflows and 439.5 million shares of volume during its strongest positive week, while U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs extended an eight-day inflow streak to $2.8 billion, including $232.1 million on Wednesday, of which IBIT accounted for $200.76 million. Reported cumulative inflows and assets differ by measurement period: IBIT had attracted $63 billion since its January 2024 debut in an earlier snapshot, while the newer data showed $54.6 billion in cumulative net inflows and $98.6 billion in net assets as Bitcoin traded near $78,500.
