Circle issued roughly $5 billion in USDC in the week ending Aug. 26, the stablecoin’s largest single-week gross mint since the start of 2026. Redemptions offset part of the issuance, so the increase in circulating supply was smaller than the gross figure. USDC’s market capitalization rose 2.67% in seven days to about $73.88 billion, while total stablecoin market capitalization reached approximately $303.72 billion, up 0.94%. Adjusted USDC transaction count jumped 31.5% week over week even as adjusted transaction volume declined 0.4% in the latest comparable period. Much of the issuance occurred on Solana, including a $250 million mint on Aug. 20 and $1 billion minted within 24 hours five days later. The activity coincided with Circle being selected as the technical provider for Hyperliquid’s $5 billion USDC reserve. Analysts tracking stablecoin demand are likely to focus on net issuance after redemptions and transaction velocity rather than gross minting alone.
