Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN) shares climbed 1.8% on Wednesday after the defense contractor was selected for the Contract Operations for Missile Evaluation and Testing, or COMET, multiple-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract supporting the Missile & Space Intelligence Center and its mission partners. The vehicle has a combined ceiling of more than $14 billion and is described in the release as having an estimated value of $14 billion, but Parsons will compete for individual task orders rather than receive the full amount. Potential work includes scientific and technical intelligence, foundational military intelligence, research and development, systems integration, hardware and software sustainment, and analytical services supporting all-source intelligence assessments. COMET contributes to analysis of foreign weapons systems for military personnel, policymakers, weapons developers, homeland-security organizations and Intelligence Community partners. Parsons brings more than 35 years of missile, space and intelligence experience, while its acquisition of Altamira Technologies expanded its capabilities in intelligence solutions, advanced analytics, software and systems development, and technical intelligence support.
