Iran Revolutionary Guard spokesperson Hossein Mohbi said the Strait of Hormuz is under Iran's control and that no enemy warships are currently in the Persian Gulf. He said no vessel can pass through the waterway without Iranian permission and acceptance of Iranian administration. Mohbi said Iran and Oman had negotiated their respective shares of the strait's waters and revenues about a month ago, reaching an outcome acceptable to both sides. He accused the United States of interfering and delaying the process, warning that the strait would not open if Washington rejected Iran's conditions.
