Turkey’s BIST 100 benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 14,646.48 points, up 0.24%, or 35.56 points, from the previous close. The index had gained 0.95% on Wednesday to finish at 14,610.92, advancing 137.50 points from Tuesday’s close. Wednesday’s session saw the index reach a low of 14,515.48 and a high of 14,730.20, with 68 indexes declining and 28 gaining. Daily transaction volume totaled 220 billion Turkish liras ($4.57 billion), while the overall value of the index stood at 14.19 trillion liras ($295.7 billion). At 9:50 a.m. local time (0650 GMT) on Thursday, the dollar traded at 48.1350 liras, the euro at 56.2185 and the British pound at 65.6085. Gold was priced at $4,604.15 an ounce, while Brent crude oil futures traded at $86.84 a barrel.
