Six Bitcoin wallets dormant for nearly 12 to more than 15 years transferred a combined 553.59 BTC worth $40.15 million between Aug. 16 and Aug. 26, Galaxy Research said. Two addresses carried labels linking them to a New York Supreme Court case in which pseudonymous plaintiff Noah Doe and two Wyoming entities seek control of 39,069 dormant addresses under the state’s lost-property law. Only one transfer, 40 BTC, went to an address labeled Boerse Stuttgart Digital; the other five destinations lacked known exchange links. Estimated potential gains ranged as high as about 1.5 million percent from early cost bases near $5 to $14 per coin. The moves coincide with litigation developments that have already removed active wallets from the claim and with separate security concern over a Coldcard firmware flaw, though on-chain data do not establish motives for most of the transfers.
