The PGA Tour unveiled its 2027 schedule, making major changes to the opening and closing portions of its 33-event regular-season slate before the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The season will begin with The American Express in La Quinta, Calif., on Jan. 21, rather than in Hawaii, ending a 56-year run of tournaments in the state. The West Coast swing will move from The Sentry at Torrey Pines to Pebble Beach and then the WM Phoenix Open, whose final round will again fall on Super Bowl Sunday. The Florida swing will also be reshaped: the Cadillac Championship moves from May to March before The Players Championship, while the Valspar Championship moves to May and The Arnold Palmer Invitational takes its mid-March position. The Sompo Championship in Napa, Calif., replaces the Rocket Classic, which ended its eight-year run in Detroit last month. The regular-season finale in Greensboro, N.C., will be sponsored by Raymond James rather than Wyndham. The 2027 FedEx Cup Playoffs will be the last under the current three-event format. In 2028, a new 90-player Championship Series Finale will be followed by a two-event match-play competition featuring 32 players.
