U.S. stocks ended Wednesday lower, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.21%, the S&P 500 slipping 0.02% and the Nasdaq Composite declining 0.08%. Investors weighed higher Treasury yields, rebounding oil prices, cautious Federal Reserve comments on interest-rate cuts and mixed corporate signals ahead of consumer price index and retail-sales reports. Nvidia fell 1.59% as investors tempered expectations before its results, while Tesla fell 1%, SK Hynix declined nearly 1% and Oracle gained 2.8%. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index fell 0.6%, led by a more than 4% decline in iQIYI. A later update said Nvidia reported a second-quarter earnings beat, after which its shares initially fell 2% before stabilizing around unchanged.
