Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company (NASDAQ: AMZN), and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) plan to deploy 2 million additional NVIDIA GPUs across AWS’s global infrastructure in 2027-2028, following plans for more than 1 million GPUs from 2026. The expansion includes Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra GPUs for AI training and inference, including agentic and physical AI, while the companies are also expanding work on CPUs, networking, open models, data processing and robotics. NVIDIA CFO Colette Kress separately said the company expects CPU revenue to rise from roughly $20 billion in fiscal 2027 to about $40 billion in fiscal 2028, supported by standalone Grace and Vera CPUs and processors integrated into superchips. Early Vera demand is associated with potential 1:1 CPU-to-GPU data-center deployments, targeting a $200 billion agentic-AI total addressable market. Investors will watch infrastructure demand, NVIDIA earnings and evidence that the CPU-to-GPU ratio and AI monetization expectations persist.
