OpenAI is launching its second startup fund, raising $400 million from its own balance sheet. An affiliate of the ChatGPT maker filed the disclosure with the SEC (U.S. securities regulator) on Wednesday. OpenAI’s first startup fund raised $175 million in 2021 through outside investors, including Microsoft, because OpenAI itself did not invest in that vehicle.
