Amazon and Nvidia are expanding their partnership to add another 2 million Nvidia GPUs to Amazon Web Services data centers in 2027 and 2028, following an earlier agreement to deploy more than 1 million GPUs starting this year. The new chips include Nvidia Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra GPUs, while Nvidia will also provide Vera CPUs, networking hardware, open models, data-processing software and robotics tools across AWS. Neither company disclosed financial terms, although the deal could be worth tens of billions of dollars based on GPU costs. The expansion comes as Amazon develops competing AI chips, including Trainium accelerators and Graviton CPUs, while Nvidia remains the dominant supplier for AI computing. Nvidia reported $96.2 billion in second-quarter sales, including $89 billion from data centers, up 117% from a year earlier, and forecast third-quarter revenue of $108 billion.
