Frostsnap, a Bitcoin multisig hardware wallet, released version 0.4.0 to address two security issues, with no user fund losses discovered so far. One flaw allowed a malicious signing request to label an output as belonging to the user’s wallet without device verification, potentially directing funds to an unconfirmed address. The other could place a change address outside the wallet’s recovery scan range, making funds appear missing after backup restoration even though they remained in the wallet. The update adds firmware downgrade protection and dozens of other fixes. Frostsnap said users should download the latest application from official channels and upgrade their device firmware.
