Binance co-founder CZ said at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong on Aug. 27 that many countries misunderstand Bitcoin and view it as a dangerous asset, whereas failing to use Bitcoin could pose a greater risk, comparable to a country not investing in artificial-intelligence technology. He said Bitcoin will eventually become more important than gold, with the current gap at about 10 times and a possible crossover during the next bull market. CZ acknowledged that large economies will need time to shift from established gold-reserve systems, but said the trend is likely to occur. He also considered it unlikely that another digital currency will overtake Bitcoin before Bitcoin surpasses gold. For national crypto reserves, he recommended allocating outside dollar reserves to the five largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding stablecoins, with Bitcoin typically accounting for more than 50%, Ethereum 10%-20% and assets such as BNB also included.
