Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 will soon be available in Amazon Web Services’ Seoul Region, allowing South Korean financial institutions to use the latest models without transferring regulated personal information overseas. AWS and Anthropic executives announced the plan at the AWS Financial Services Forum Seoul 2026, where they also described a shift from proof-of-concept projects to production services, including customer-facing agents, AI-ready data and broader AI transformation across financial institutions. They identified model selection, return on investment, auditability and regulator-ready controls as key requirements for adoption.
