Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) reported unaudited first-half 2026 revenue of RMB 38.635 billion, up 19.4% year on year, and profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of RMB 4.467 billion, up 94.2%. EBITDA rose 40.7% to RMB 24.511 billion, operating cash flow climbed 252.0% to RMB 20.760 billion, and gross margin improved to 23.2%. Wafer foundry revenue increased 18.1% to RMB 35.86 billion, while shipments rose 14.9% to 5.379 million 8-inch-equivalent wafers and average selling prices increased to RMB 6,667. SMIC said robust AI-related demand, returning overseas orders, stronger localization and ample backlogs supported growth. Pricing increases that took effect in the third quarter are expected to contribute more fully to gross margin, with third-quarter revenue forecast to rise 2% to 4% sequentially and gross margin guided at 26% to 28%.
