Accenture agreed to acquire Tokyo-based technology services provider COMWARE, adding more than 180 professionals and expanding Accenture Edge’s capabilities for mid-market manufacturers in Japan. Financial terms were not disclosed. Announced August 27, the transaction is Accenture’s second disclosed mid-market acquisition that week and will place COMWARE within Accenture Edge, launched in June 2026 for companies with annual revenue of $300 million to $3 billion. COMWARE has more than two decades of experience implementing and operating core business systems for Japanese manufacturers, including discrete and process manufacturing. It has been an SAP Japan business partner for more than 25 years, using its proprietary COMet template for rapid deployments, and also provides CRM services as a Salesforce partner. Accenture values the worldwide mid-market at $240 billion and says it is growing at a high single-digit rate. The company is pursuing pre-built, partner-focused solutions in AI, cloud and data that can be deployed quickly. Earlier in the week, Accenture agreed to acquire McCoy, a Dutch SAP transformation provider serving mid-market customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Accenture Edge and Google Cloud also recently introduced pre-built agentic solutions for mid-market technology and AI transformation. COMWARE’s acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions, and Accenture has not provided a completion timeline. Accenture shares rose 0.48% to $182.25 in Thursday’s premarket session, although the stock remained 11% below its 200-day moving average and was down 29.46% over 12 months.
