Top U.S. AI executives will join the Sept. 1-2 G20 technology ministerial in North Carolina as the Trump administration pushes a nonbinding “light-touch” AI framework known as the Carolina Principles and keeps leading Silicon Valley figures close on policy and investment. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are due in person on Sept. 2, while Elon Musk, Meta President Dina Powell McCormick and former White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks are scheduled for virtual remarks on Sept. 1. The meeting is co-hosted by White House science adviser Michael Kratsios and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who will hold a fireside chat with Altman. Sacks and Kratsios co-chair the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, on which Huang and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg also sit. The rare joint billing follows earlier contacts including a May 2025 Saudi investment forum, and comes as traders watch chip export rules, federal contracts and AI infrastructure names ahead of the December G20 leaders’ summit in Miami.
